The Insurance Law Review accepts submissions throughout the year, and is currently seeking articles, essays, comments, and notes on insurance law and related areas for its upcoming issue.

The Law Review is the country’s leading venue for traditional doctrinal scholarship in insurance law. It also has a long record of publishing broader work relating to risk and insurance. We welcome scholarship about current and important policy issues in insurance law, as well as work highlighting emerging insurance issues, new insurance products, insurance and public policy, insurance as governance, and early case law commentary. Our authors include leading scholars in law, sociology, philosophy, history, and economics. We have also published work by regulators, practitioners, and students.

Unlike most law reviews, the Insurance Law Review is peer-reviewed. Our peer review process is conducted on an expedited basis, and we typically make acceptance decisions within two weeks of receiving a submission. Once a submission has been accepted for publication, student editors will work closely with its author to prepare it for publication.

The Insurance Law Review prefers authors to submit their article electronically through Scholastica. However, ILR also accepts submissions by email to ilr@uconn.edu.

Length: We encourage submissions of Articles that have fewer than 25,000 words (including footnotes), and Essays, Comments, and Notes with 10,000-20,000 words (including footnotes).

Citations: Submissions must conform to the most current edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation. Failure to conform to the The Bluebook will be a factor that weighs against acceptance of the manuscript.

Abstract: Please include a short abstract in your submission.

Timing: We do not have any submissions windows, and welcome submissions throughout the year. Articles will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
